At Bennett Development, our primary goal is to build new homes sustainably from the ground up, taking a holistic approach with the design, construction, and clean energy applications.
Sustainable development seems to be a term thrown around loosely among the big wig Developers in Miami. Many local development companies advertise “sustainable homes” or “green homes.” However, it’s dishonest because when you look into their projects and the materials used, there is nothing more green or sustainable than traditional construction - it’s just a marketing ploy. Unlike the competition, we invest hundreds of thousands in each home to make it greener, safer, structurally stronger, and far more efficient than traditional homes.
At Bennett Development, we take demonstrable steps and work with a third-party sustainable building consulting group, Two Trails, to verify that our homes are designed, built, and operated with sustainability and efficiency at the forefront. Stabilizing and reducing carbon emissions is key to living within environmental limits, which is why our homes deploy a net-zero solar energy systems. Our homes are developed with the goal of achieving the highest possible green certification level - LEED Platinum.
Our sustainable building practices promote better indoor air quality, lighting, and acoustic design. We eliminate the use of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) because green buildings with enhanced indoor environmental quality protect the health and comfort of your family. By making smarter use of water, both inside and outside, we are able to reduce water costs and overall consumption. All glass must meet the performance ratings (U-Factor and SHGC) of the 2009 IECC of climate zone 1 for LEED certification; this is a U-Factor of 0.4 and a SHGC of 0.25. Our ESW windows are stronger, more efficient, and 20% more expensive than regular hurricane proof windows. When possible, we source locally to reduce transportation time and energy. Our homes are built to be air-tight and thereby energy-efficient, ensuring your home can be comfortably heated and cooled with minimal energy usage.
Sustainable development is not just about the homes we build, but also the local community we build them in. Sustainable development is often partnered with good corporate citizenship. In the context of Real Estate Development, Developers should use their individual and company resources in ways that benefit rather than damage the economic, social, and physical environment in which they build new homes. Bennett Development considers sustainable development to be our company’s competitive advantage, so we’re proud to bring you the best homes with a synergy of modern building techniques and clean energy applications. The future is now, choose to live in it!
